Why learn with Viva Piano?
Affordable lessons
We want to give more children in our community the opportunity to reap the many benefits of learning an instrument. Expensive private tuition is no longer the only option. Our lessons cost less than half of the average private piano/keyboard lesson.
Fun and engaging
Far too often, children are put off by 1-to-1 teaching that emphasises passing grades. We use games, teamwork - and pop music! - to keep all pupils engaged. By setting realistic goals and providing fun resources to practise at home, we help children use music as the ultimate stress-reliever.

Group learning
In our group lessons, children will benefit from a more informal and social environment; they will learn to play music as an ensemble and get their first taste of performing the piano.

How do we teach?
Beginning in Spring 2025, our group lessons will run in courses of 6 weeks, with no more than 6 children in attendance. Each lesson will focus on the three core principles of learning the piano.

Reading Music
Learning the basic elements of music theory is fundamental to any instrument. We teach what all the bits and bobs of a music composition mean, laying the foundations of a lifelong skill.
Scales
The bit everyone dreads. But no more. Taught using fun techniques without incessant repetition, we aim for your child to have mastered the C major scale by the end of the course.

Sing and Play
Here's where it gets interesting. Unlike traditional lessons, we teach children how to play while they are singing, using songs they will know and love. We'll start by playing some accompanying notes before working up to chord patterns. Truly one of the most magical parts of playing the piano.
