Let's get more children learning the piano

Group lessons in Letchworth for children age 6 - 10 with an interest in music

Why learn with Viva Piano?

Affordable lessons

We want to give more children in our community the opportunity to reap the many benefits of learning an instrument. Expensive private tuition is no longer the only option. Our lessons cost less than half of the average private piano/keyboard lesson.

Fun and engaging

Far too often, children are put off by 1-to-1 teaching that emphasises passing grades. We use games, teamwork - and pop music! - to keep all pupils engaged. By setting realistic goals and providing fun resources to practise at home, we help children use music as the ultimate stress-reliever.

Group learning

In our group lessons, children will benefit from a more informal and social environment; they will learn to play music as an ensemble and get their first taste of performing the piano.

Testimonials

"Our daughter had a great time learning piano with Viva Piano. The lessons struck a fantastic balance, with a seamless blend between playing popular songs and learning the early fundamentals of piano. The teachers were attentive to every child, remembering their musical interests and progress, which kept them engaged. It was a fantastic way for our daughter to be introduced to playing the piano and has stimulated her interest in music. Thank you."

Introduction to Piano

How do we teach?

Our group lessons run in courses of 6 weeks, with no more than 6 children in attendance. Each lesson will focus on our three learning pillars.

Discover and Play

Discovering the building blocks of a music score is fundamental to  learning any instrument. Children will get to explore these elements through games and fun challenges, and then apply them to their very own compositions!

1

Learn and Play

Time to get those fingers moving! Whether your child is on our beginner or intermediate course, they will get stuck straight into playing melodies on the keyboard. We also use some scales to aid practice and finger technique but don't worry, no boring incessant repetition round here!

2

Sing and Play

Unlike traditional lessons, we teach children how to play while they are singing, using songs they will know and love. We'll start by playing some accompanying notes before working up to chord patterns. Truly one of the most magical parts of playing the piano.
